I was doing a search for affiliate programs the other day when I came across a website that should be very useful to anyone interested in affiliate marketing.
When people talk about affiliate marketing these days, the names that cross almost everyone's mind are Clickbank and PayDotCom but there are many more affiliate programs to select from if you want to earn money online by selling affiliate products.
Affiliate Ranker is a search engine and directory for affiliate programs so if you are looking for a new affiliate program to join, I recommend you to take a look there.
Clickbank is not the only affiliate program and if you are tired of the way Clickbank operates (there are a few conditions to fulfill before getting paid that may seem a bit strict to some), Affilate Ranker's directory of affiliate programs includes a large selection of categories from books and web hosting to consumer electronics and furniture without forgetting weight loss, dating, casinos and many more.
Affiliate Ranker makes it easy to select the affiliate program for you with a detailed description of each program and the methods with which you can earn commissions from these. Some programs pay their affiliate members a fixed amount per sale, percentage per sale, number of banner impressions, number of clicks or leads so you decide what type of product you want to promote and if the commission type for your selection suits you, away you go!
As always with affiliate programs, only join the ones that don't require a sign up fee, read all the terms and conditions before you start and only join if you are comfortable with these.

PLR Wholesaler: Free PLR Content with a Twist
I have just come across the best free PLR (Private Label Rights) package so far. The reason why I am so interested in PLR content is not that I am lazy, in fact I hate the idea of publishing the exact same articles as other people, but because I know I can get one or more articles on one topic and rewrite them in my own words to create my own unique articles and publish them on article directories to bring traffic to my blog. I haven't even read any of the articles in the package so far but I know the free membership I just got is going to be very useful.
You heard me right, I said I haven't read any of the free articles and already I'm bragging about this PLR Wholesaler! This is not the only free PLR content available online, I came across several others before but never one that gave me absolutely all the tools I need to earn free traffic and money from them!
Here is what you get with PLR Wholesaler on top of the thousands of free articles, ebooks, tutorials, Internet Marketing courses, videos, websites builders and coupon codes for a few web products such as hosting packages (some of the products even come with Master Resale Rights so you can sell them for 100% profit):
You get to rebrand PLR Wholesaler with your own affiliate ID and if you are a Clickbank member you can even earn more money by updating your profile with your own Clickbank affiliate ID, but that's not all!
You will find a page on the website that gives you absolutely everything you need to earn money from giving away the PLR Wholesaler package (guess what I'm trying to do right now!):
- PLR Wholesaler Video,
- Banners,
- Solo ads,
- PLR Wholesaler review,
- Headlines,
- Classified ads,
- Signatures for forums or emails,
- Rebrandable PLR ebooks,
- Rebrandable software,
- Squeeze page and ecourse,
- Blog post (which, by the way, I am NOT using),
- 20 PLR articles (which I may use but only after putting them in my own words).
What I like most about this free membership website is that, instead of leaving you to your own devices with all those tools, it gives you step-by-step directions on how to use them to earn money and get traffic to your affiliate page, which is something I have never seen so far with any PLR content packages or affiliate products.
I guess this guy Gabor Olah is doing a very smart thing with his Free PLR Wholesaler: he is one of the rare Internet Marketers that understands that one of the best ways to make money online is to help others doing so too.

Free Autoresponders: What Are They Worth?
If you are serious about earning money with affiliate marketing, it is a good idea to use an autoresponder. Since I am always on the look-out for freebies, I have decided to run a few tests and check whether it is worth using free autoresponder services.
I found a list of Free Autoresponders on FreebieList, an excellent resource for freebie hunters like me and I signed up with Freeautobot two weeks ago. I wanted to create a Squeeze page (so I could collect a few names and email addresses) directing people to an affiliate link but since I didn't know how to create a secure email capture form, I had to use the one provided with a free autoresponder service.
I haven't yet had the time and leisure to create an email campaign, I just stole (legally) the emails from another program I signed up with (don't ask!) and started putting FreeAutobot to my own little test:
- FreeAutobot's email messages are advertisement free: but as soon as you sign up to the autoresponder service, you receive a series of emails praising the merits of their autoresponder programme. Also, anytime I login to my FreeAutobot account, I have to endure those annoying pop-ups before I can access my account. I guess the fact that they advertise to you and not your list should be a plus, but it is very annoying: this will certainly not encourage me to upgrade.
- My email spam filter blocked my first email from FreeAutobot! Definitely not a good sign. If you want the people on your list to get your emails, you must ask them to add your email address (I haven't figured out yet if this should be your real email address or the email address you get from FreeAutobot when you open an account with them) to their email contact list. People being people, not all of them will do what they are told; in fact, I would be surprised if even 10% of the people you managed to get onto your list did this. When you are doing an email marketing campaign, you know that not everyone will buy from you; if only a minority actually gets your emails, you are doomed to failure!
- The point above should be enough to discourage you but I found another element I thought I would add: FreeAutobot only lets you create one list! You can only run one email marketing campaign at a time, which could be a big problem if you want to promote several products at a time. And what if you decide to promote a potty-training e-book when you have finished promoting your gardening tips e-book? I guess you could open a new account for each campaign so that your lists don't get mixed up but with what I have seen so far, I think I will try a different free autoresponder instead.
So far it looks like in relation to autoresponders, you get what you pay for but I will keep on experimenting and see if I can find a better quality free autoresponder.

What Can Squeeze Pages Do For You
Some of you may not even know what a Squeeze page is but I am sure that you are all familiar with single web pages begging you to enter your name and email address so that you can get a free report or free newsletter. After you sign up and get your freebie, you are usually bombarded with (not free) offers by email. Well there you go, you have been acquainted to your first Squeeze page!
Sometimes Internet Marketers use a page from their website as email capture page to build their list, but if you don't have or don't want a website, you can still use one of these squeeze pages to promote an e-book, newsletter, affiliate links, etc. Squeeze pages don't have to be rich in content, as their main objective is not to inform you but to lure you into asking for information so that some clever Internet Marketer can have your details on his list.
Squeeze pages work best with an autoresponder and a good autoresponder service should enable you to copy a form that you can put on your website or squeeze page for people to sign up for whatever is being advertised.
Why a use a squeeze page and not just put a form on a website or blog? Typically a good squeeze page should offer something your visitors can't refuse; you can put your email capture form on your blog but your visitors may be distracted by the other content on the site and even though they may want to sign up, after clicking on a few links they may just forget everything about your great offer; a squeeze page just converts better, as once your visitors are on it, they have a whole page dedicated to your offer and you shouldn't give them any other choice than entering their details on your form. You should have your form on your blog but also put a link to your Squeeze page everywhere else (forums, email signature, traffic exchanges...).
If you are planning to do an email marketing campaign, you can sign up for free squeeze pages and offer your visitors a free e-book or newsletter on the same topic your email campaign is about; build a good relationship with your subscribers offering them something valuable for free first and you will get more conversions for what you are selling.
Enough talking about Squeeze pages, I'd better publish this post now and start designing my first one!

Affiliate Marketing Mistakes
Affiliate Marketing Mistakes is an e-book that retails at the moment for $9.97 and even though it didn't make me go "WAOW" the first time I went through it, after the second read, I realized that I could really use some of these tips.
The reason why I chose to talk about this e-book is because of the links it contains: when I downloaded it I received full Giveaway rights to this ebook so if you want to check it out, go ahead and download it here for free.
Why should you download it? For one, it could help you avoid some common mistakes affiliates often make (I am guilty as charged of more than one!), but also for the following reasons:
1- It is free;
2- You can sell it, give it away or just read it;
3- You get 100 free PLR Articles in 4 niche topics with it as a special gift (you can use these to promote your own affiliate links anywhere you like!);
4- With each of these 4 niche topics, you get 2 high quality headers graphics (just what you need to start your own mini-sites to sell affiliate products from);
5- I just love the last bonus included in this e-book: it will take you through a very quick system that you can use to create your own viral e-books at no cost that you can sell or give away (guess how I got this e-book in the first place?);
For those of you who just want to get the free brandable e-books feature (I think there are about 20 e-books to choose from), here is the link to Viral Ebook Explosion: go ahead, treat yourselves to your own free brandable e-books!

Kamikaze Affiliate Marketing
This is how it is: I am trying to make money on the Internet. In order to earn money online, I created this blog which is about earning money online, blogging, affiliate marketing and anything else I think would be of interest to other people like me trying to earn a bit of money online.
One of the best ways to earn money online is Clickbank, only I am not selling anything with this damn program! Why not? Well, I am just realizing that I am trying to sell stuff from my Clickbank account to people who probably already have a Clickbank account, and if they don't already have one, I am doing everything I can to encourage them to open their own, so if they are going to buy anything from Clickbank, they are going to get it from their own account and pocket the commission themselves!
Last January I wrote 2 articles that had nothing to do with making money online which included my Clickbank hoplink and published them on Associated Content: out of about 200 readers, 4 bought the diet e-book that I was reviewing. Unfortunately, what I did was against Associated Content's policy and my articles were quickly removed from their website.
I kept on blogging about how to make money online without actually making any (if I don't count the $1.50-$1.70 that Associated Content pays me each month for my articles, but I don't call that money, this feels much more like peanuts being thrown to a monkey!). All this time, I was trying to sell stuff to the WRONG people!
I haven't been using this blog much for promoting Clickbank products, in fact if I ignore the ads displayed on the blog, I have only ever tried to sell something once, everything else I promoted was free, and I know trying to sell you something here would be totally useless because if you are like me, you don't want to spend money on money-making software or e-books, you want it all for free and I don't blame you for this!
So even though I will keep promoting freebies whenever I come across good ones, anything else I want to earn money from "Clickbankwise" will have to be done elsewhere (hey, this blog is not the only place I can use to promote stuff) and on a different sort of products; I am actually thinking of digging up that diet article and publishing it on Go Articles, since they allow links in their articles; I don't know how I didn't think of doing this sooner!
I hope this post doesn't sound too much like a boring ramble; what I wanted to say in short is that selling affiliate marketing products to affiliate marketers is just plain suicide. I don't think this works very well and unless you are a publisher with an e-book or software that you have created yourself, if you want to make money with Clickbank, you should stick to selling their e-books to people who don't know that Clickbank even exists.
